Grandparents hold a special place in every child’s heart. The memories of precious moments shared and the love that is felt can last a lifetime for a grandchild.
Every year in honour of all of the grandparents and great grandparents living at Sunridge Gardens, we host a special celebration for Grandparents Day. This year we had a wonderful turn out and enjoyed a special ice cream sundae buffet with Grandma and Grandpa. The great grandchildren also had a fantastic time busting open a Grandparent’s Day Piñata filled with goodies.
After all the little bellies were full of sweets we brought everyone inside to enjoy a magic show by the amazing family entertainer Trent Tinney. There were lots of laughs and giggles, audience participation and even a live bunny rabbit! Trent finished the show off with balloon animals for everyone.
As staff, we are so happy to see the proud smiling faces of our residents as they enjoy the company of their loved ones. The special bond that’s created by the love of a grandparent was very obvious to us.
