Every senior deserves a safe place to call home. That’s why, once again, we’re proud to sponsor the Walk of Ages, a heartwarming event hosted by the Seniors Services Society of BC—a local non-profit agency dedicated to helping vulnerable seniors access housing and vital supports so they can age with dignity.
Homelessness can happen quietly and unexpectedly to seniors. Rising rents, demovictions, extended hospital stays, or the sudden loss of a spouse can quickly destabilize seniors living on the edge of poverty. It happened to Anna, a Seniors Service Society client who, at 87, was evicted from her long-time apartment and ended up living in her car. Individuals like Anna are the reason the Walk of Ages matters.
On Sunday, June 9, join Bria Communities and hundreds of others in New Westminster’s beautiful Queen’s Park to walk, raise funds, and raise awareness of this urgent issue. Registration is just $10 per person or $30 for a family or team of four and includes a swag bag, refreshments, and door prizes!
Let’s take steps—literally—to support seniors in crisis. Your participation helps provide emergency, short-term, and long-term housing for older adults who have nowhere else to turn. Together, we can make sure no senior gets left behind.
