Bria Communities proudly announces that this month all four of our senior living residences have received the BC Seniors Living Association (BCSLA) Seal of Approval.

The BCSLA Seal of Approval is a third-party accreditation process for retirement communities. Those who have earned it can boast of operating a seniors community with the highest safety standards and offering the highest quality of services. Months of self-assessment and preparation lead to a day-long evaluation at each residence conducted by an independent surveyor who looks at policies, standards and quality improvement practices to ensure requirements are not only met but exceeded.

“They evaluate at least 60 different categories with intense attention to detail,” says Tanya Snow, Director of Bria Communities. “The assessor is looking at everything from emergency preparedness, to operating permits, to resident services and employee and resident satisfaction.” Communities with long-term residential care meet an additional 15 criteria

Every policy, training system, resident program, and safety check is there for one reason: to ensure Bria Communities offers the very highest quality in senior living housing and support.

Previously The Waterford was the only residence in the Bria family who had achieved the Seal status. In July 2018 new director Tanya Snow determined each all four residences would begin the work of preparing for this accreditation. “This is a quality company, offering a quality service, with amazing employees and we didn’t want to bypass the opportunity to have it affirmed!”

Tanya is quick to acknowledge the hard work done by managers at Magnolia Gardens, Sunridge Gardens and The Wexford, in achieving the Seal. “Everyone was well-prepared, and they flew through with 100% success. It tells us what we’ve always known—that Bria Communities provides quality seniors retirement communities and goes above and beyond for our residents.”
