An ocean of red Bria shirts dominated the New West Riverwalk on Saturday, June 1 as Team Bria helped raise $19,000 to benefit homeless and at-risk seniors through The Grand Parade.
It was the first year for the Grand Parade in New Westminster, a unique fundraising event for the Seniors Services Society. The Society helps vulnerable seniors 60-plus throughout Metro Vancouver with housing support, temporary housing and outreach in additional non-medical support and programs to help keep seniors engaged and social.
Bria Communities resonates with the desire to see every senior access safe and secure housing—regardless of income bracket, and with the help of parent company, Century Group committed $3,500 to assist in meeting the goal.
25 Bria staff, Century Group staff, residents, friends and family members proudly wore Bria red shirts as they did the 2 or 5 k walk through New Westminster. Bria also lent nine volunteers to the event as route marshals, registration assistants, and rest stop hosts.
The Bria rest stop proudly served delicious, gluten-free mango & coconut Bria Bars (developed in The Wexford’s kitchen) to all Parade participants at the 1 K mark and spread Bria love all around Quayside Park.
