Congratulations to The Waterford and The Wexford who were chosen jointly as finalists for the Delta Chamber of Commerce Business of The Year!
There are approximately 9,500 businesses licensed in Delta; only 30 nominees advance to the finalist stage each year and only ten will receive awards at the 68th Annual Hats Off to Business Excellence Awards Gala on November 22 in Tsawwassen.
Committed to the Community
Community engagement formed the backbone of the nomination for Business of the Year. The sibling properties in Tsawwassen have an outstanding track record of contributing to and improving their community and beyond.
In the past 12 months, staff and residents have hosted events that raised more than $24,000 for The Alzheimer’s Society of BC and DeltAssist. Also this year, they have worked together to raise funds for groups like the Terry Fox Foundation, Owl Rescue, Tsawwassen Library, Heart and Stroke, Delta Community Animal Shelter and Canadian Cancers
Improving Quality of Life for Seniors
The nomination noted a strong commitment to improving the quality of life for seniors in Delta by hosting Virtual Dementia Tour for more than 50 community leaders, first responders and industry professionals, as well as involvement with the Delta Division of Family Practice, Delta Senior Planning Team, UVIC Centre of Aging and Eldercollege.
Also noteworthy in 2019 both properties attained the BC Seniors Living Associate Seal of Approval—an indication of excellence and superior standard of safety, security and services to seniors and their families.
