To honour and commemorate all those who sacrificed so in the name of freedom, several members of the Harvest Baptist church came to perform a Remembrance day service at Magnolia Gardens. Many of the residents who served overseas were decked out in their finery, with their medals proudly displayed. The pride and dignity that our residents, both male and female, still exhibit is very touching to witness.
During the ceremony, a moving rendition of the poem “In Flanders Field” was read by Pam Murphy, the manager of Magnolia Gardens. There was a volunteer bugler who played “The Last Post”, followed by one minute of silence.
