Recently, Magnolia Gardens’ was featured in an article in Business in Vancouver discussing the building’s new solar roof, which will now generate about half of its total power needs. This new technology was designed and patented by a Surrey-based company called MSR Innovations and this was the first commercial installation of this technology.
The system is not your typical solar array mounted on a roof, it’s a system of photovoltaic roofing tiles that can cover the entire roof, or only a section. At Magnolia they have used this new technology, called SolTrak, on a portion of their roof and the photovoltaic panels will generate 2.5 kilowatts of electricity.
At Magnolia Gardens, and all of our Bria Communities, we’re committed to operating and building residences in a sustainable fashion. To read the full article click here.
