How to Get your BC Vaccination Card

Starting Monday, 13 September 2021 everyone in BC will be required to show proof of vaccination to access many events, services and businesses. 

The paper card you received upon getting your first vaccine will only be a valid form of vaccination status until 26 September, 2021. After that, you must use the official BC Vaccination Card either in digital or printed format.

Bria Communities seniors living residents should seek assistance from a family member to get help acquiring a digital or print version of the Official BC Vaccination Card. Recreation Team members are available if a family member is not.

The following summary of information from the BC Government website will walk you through the process of getting your official BC Vaccination Card:

Step 1

You will need the following information to apply:

  • Personal health number (located on your Care Card or BC Services Card)
  • Birthdate
  • Date of first Covid-19 Vaccination

Step 2

Visit the BC Government’s Vaccination page. Click the ‘Get My Vaccine Card’ Button on the BC Government vaccine card information page.

Step 3

You will be directed to provide your Personal Health Number, Birthdate, and dates of your first and second vaccination. Note: you may be asked to wait in a queue before entering this information.

Step 4

Once you have submitted your information you will receive a QR format of your official BC Vaccination Card. This QR code is unique to you and is a personal document. Do not share this card with others or put it on social media.

Step 5

Take a screenshot of this and save it to your phone or tablet or print a copy of it to carry with you. You will be required to show a digital or print version of this code along with government photo identification ( BC Services card, driver’s license or passport) to access the businesses and services where it is required.

If you Do Not Have Access to a Smartphone, Computer or Printer

OPTION 1

Ask a friend or family member for help registering. 

OPTION 2

Order a paper copy by phone.  1.833.838.2323

Note you cannot request a paper copy on behalf of someone else.

OPTION 3

Visit a BC Services Office to print a copy of your card. 

YOU WILL NEED TO PROVIDE QR CODE PROOF OF VACCINATION FOR:

  • Indoor ticketed sporting events
  • Indoor concerts, theatre, dance and symphony events
  • Licensed restaurants and restaurants that offer table service (indoor and patio dining)
  • Pubs, bars and lounges (indoor and patio dining)
  • Nightclubs, casinos and movie theatres
  • Gyms, exercise facilities/studios, pools and recreation facilities
  • Businesses offering indoor group exercise
  • Indoor adult group and team sports for people 22 years old or older
  • Indoor organized events with 50 or more people. For example: Wedding receptions, organized parties, conferences and workshops
  • Indoor organized group recreational classes and activities like pottery, art and choir
  • Post-secondary on-campus student housing

YOU WILL NOT NEED TO PROVIDE QR CODE PROOF OF VACCINATION FOR:

  • Grocery stores, liquor stores and pharmacies
  • Unlicensed restaurants that don’t offer table service, like fast food, coffee shops and takeout
  • Salons, hairdressers, barbers
  • Hotels, resorts, cabins and campsites
    • Unless it is a setting or event covered by the PHO order. For example a licensed hotel restaurant, fitness centre, wedding reception or conference
  • Banks and credit unions
  • Retail and clothing stores
  • Food banks and shelters
  • Escape rooms, laser tag, indoor paint ball, arcades and bowling alleys (if they are unlicensed or don’t offer table service)
  • Post-secondary on-campus cafeterias
  • Worship services
  • Indoor youth recreational sport for people 19 years old or younger
  • Before and after school programs for K to 12 students
  • Student events and activities in K to 12 public and independent schools
  • Indoor organized events with less than 50 people, except adult sports

Vaccination Policies in Bria Communities

At Bria Communities, all employees and outside contractors who have interactions with residents will be required to be fully vaccinated by the end of October 2021.  Proof of vaccination will be required.  We encourage all families visiting Bria Communities to get fully vaccinated as well in order to protect your loved one.   

Masks will be required in common areas and strongly encouraged when visiting your loved one if you are not fully vaccinated.
