On January 22nd, the staff and residents of Magnolia Gardens gathered to celebrate a wonderful milestone of one of our own, Mr. Norman Currell, who turned 100 years young. Many of Mr. Currell’s family were in attendance, and friends from the community dropped in to wish him well. Mark Warawa, the Member of Parliament for Langley, came to add his wishes as well.
Ron Currell, son of the birthday boy, spoke to the crowd, and gave an overview of Norman’s life and career, from being a decorated pilot in the war, to a Bobby in England, followed by his immigration to Canada.
There was a champagne toast, after which, the residents and guests sang a rousing rendition of “Happy Birthday” while birthday cake was served for all to enjoy. It was a wonderful afternoon filled with laughter and fellowship.
