Zumbathon for Lapu Lapu Victims Raises $14K

Bria Communities Team Members

Bria Communities team members got their heart rates up at a Zumbathon fundraiser to support the Filipino community in the aftermath of the Lapu Lapu Festival tragedy in Vancouver.

Melanni Tolosa-Collins from The Wexford played a pivotal role in organizing the event, and team members from The Wexford, The Waterford and Sunridge Gardens donated and danced their hearts out.

Over 140 Zumba enthusiasts from the BC Zumba Instructor Network joined, and a large group of sponsors, including Bria Communities, provided prizes and support to make the event a huge success. The event even made the nightly news on Global TV. Together, they raised more than $14,800 and have given the funds to the United Filipino Canadian Associations in British Columbia to distribute.

Members of the Filipino community are essential to the Bria Communities team, and we’re deeply honoured to stand together with them during this heartbreaking time. Thank you to everyone who planned, danced and contributed to making this event an enormous success!
