A Breath of Fresh Air: Renovations in the Magnolia Gardens Care Centre

Magnolia Gardens long-term care centre renovation

There is something about spring in the Fraser Valley that makes you want to open the windows and let the fresh air in. This year, we’re doing exactly that at Magnolia Gardens Care Centre—bringing the beauty of our local landscape inside as we upgrade and update our space.

We’ve spent many months planning and crafting a space that feels like a true sanctuary for our residents. Our goal is simple: to create an environment that embraces the natural beauty surrounding us, encourages a sense of community, and nurtures a peaceful heart.

Inspired by the Land We Call Home

If our new finishes look familiar, it’s because they were found right in our own backyard. We’ve pulled warm sandy neutrals from the banks of the Fraser River, earth tones from Langley’s rolling farmland, and soft green accents inspired by the peaks of Golden Ears.

By blending the clean, airy lines of the West Coast with the cozy textures of a contemporary farmhouse, we’re creating a space that feels both modern and deeply “home.”

Thoughtful Updates, Heartfelt Care

While we are freshening up every corner with new paint and comfortable furniture, some of the most exciting changes are happening in the heart of our home:

  • Reception & Nurses’ Station: We are modernizing this central hub to make it even more welcoming and efficient for both residents and our wonderful care team.
  • The Country Kitchen and Extended Dining Room: Residents and care staff will find the new country kitchen easy to use, full of perks, and beautiful. The new dining nook will feature banquette seating for a cozy dining experience.
  • Room for Life: To make our days flow a little better, we’ve switched our Activity and TV spaces around. This simple change will make these areas much more useful for the music, fitness, and laughter that fill our days
  • A Personal Touch: The doors to residents’ suites are getting a splash of vibrant, eye-catching colour! These distinct shades make each entrance easy to recognize and unique. We’ve also added a personal cubby outside each room.

Our Promise Remains the Same

Even with these big changes, the heart of Magnolia Gardens stays the same. We remain a cozy community of 36 private suites supported by 24/7 nursing care. We support seniors with complex physical care needs and memory care.

Our BriaCare philosophy continues to guide everything we do. We believe in focusing on each person’s unique needs, protecting their independence, and working hand in hand with families to ensure every day is lived with joy and dignity.
