Every senior deserves a safe place to call home. That’s why, once again, we’re proud to sponsor the Walk of Ages, a heartwarming event hosted by the Seniors Services Society of BC—a local non-profit agency dedicated to helping vulnerable seniors access housing and vital supports so they can age with dignity.
Homelessness can happen quietly and unexpectedly to seniors. Rising rents, demovictions, extended hospital stays, or the sudden loss of a spouse can quickly destabilize seniors living on the edge of poverty. It happened to Anna, a Seniors Service Society client who, at 87, was evicted from her long-time apartment and ended up living in her car. Individuals like Anna are the reason the Walk of Ages matters.
On Sunday, June 14 from 9 am – 12 pm, join Bria Communities and hundreds of others at New Westminster’s Mercer Field to walk, raise funds, and raise awareness of this urgent issue. Step to live music from DJ Alibaba, enjoy a continental brunch, drop by our photo booth, and kids can get creative in the craft zone.
Registration is just $10 per person or $30 for a family or team of four and includes a swag bag, continental breakfast, and door prizes! Or, purchase tickets to the 50/50 draw.
