The Waterford Care Center Carnival Day

Carnival Day at the Waterford Care Center was a huge success this year with about 25 kids from staff and resident’s grandchildren. The dining room was decorated like a circus tent with clowns and balloons on the walls. The petting zoo on the patio had very cuddly bunnies to hold along with some baby chicks and for the more daring a parrot or bearded dragon! The pig was a little too big to cuddle and the hedgehog a little too prickly though.

With all the excitement some children still found their way to the games of bean bag toss and Velcro target toss or golf and the popcorn machine. Then Corky the clown did her magic and drew all the kids in for her amazing balloon making – the world champion balloon maker  amazed children and adults alike with her creations. From bow and arrows to Rapunzel princesses and lightning maquine cars – she can make just about anything. Children, residents, families, and staff all had a day to remember and enjoyed the joy on the children’s faces and memories of their own childhood.
