On Wednesday, 4 December 2013 The Waterford hosted a fantastic pancake breakfast to raise money for relief in the Philippines. The breakfast was by donation and was offered to residents of the seniors’ community as well as employees at Century Group’s various other sites. Guests enjoyed a great spread of pancakes, sausage and fruit served by The Waterford’s recreation team dressed up in elf costumes!
One of Century Group’s head office employees was born and raised in the Philippines and he was thrilled that The Waterford took this initiative to help. He still has lots of friends and family members still living in the typhoon-stricken country and he happily came to the breakfast in support of this cause; bringing all of this work colleagues with him!
The breakfast raised just over $300 which was matched by the government making the total donation just over $600! Thank you to The Waterford staff for planning this event and to everyone who came and donated to this worthy cause!
