Bria Communities is proud to be part of the International Council of Active Aging Conference education team in October 2025! This premier event unites senior living professionals shaping the health and wellness of older adults across North America.

For over two decades, the ICAA Conference and Expo has been a cornerstone of transformation in the active-aging sector. This event is more than just another conference; it’s a pivotal moment for many as to how they approach aging and wellness. Senior Living industry leaders gather together to reimagine the future of aging, challenge the status quo, and leave a legacy of wellness for generations to come.

Bria Communities leaders have participated in the conference since 2023 and found inspiration and insight presented in the main sessions and breakout sessions.

“Our involvement with the International Council of Active Aging has had a tremendous impact on the day-to-day life of our residents, notes Janice Miller, Marketing Manager for Bria Communities.

We’ve been inspired by the ICAA’s Seven Dimensions of Wellness and how we can integrate them into our lifestyle. Our leaders have changed how we talk to residents about active aging and their quality of life. The conference offers fresh insights and challenges us to re-think aging.”

This year, Janice and Bria Communities Director Tanya Gibson-Snow are presenting a session focusing on the Environmental dimension of wellness. Drawing on their three years of experience with the Bee Well Project, they will discuss how seniors and pollinators can thrive together.

The session invites leaders involved in life enrichment programming to discover how the Bee Well Project can enhance environmental and vocational health and foster connections among older adults, youth and community members through education about honeybees. By reviewing its success at Bria Communities, participants can explore ways to design and implement the scalable program in any community setting.

“One of our core values is innovation,” says Janice, “The opportunity to contribute to the ongoing effort to shift the paradigm of aging in North America is exactly what we want to be doing.”
